Cascade Clamp - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop employing only 4 people. Total sales for that year amounted to about 60 thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and other parts. Within five years of operation, the business had expanded to forty staff and their yearly sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is amongst the leading worldwide makers within the material handling industry.
Design and production of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively engage in new business possibilities. All through the final 60 years, the industry of material handling has developed into a really complex field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its growth. Cascade at the moment continues to grow as the best supplier of lift truck attachments and various associated items. In the 1950's, Cascade started designing, manufacturing and advertising hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was finished in 1956 on a brand new office so as to house all the plant and office operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present center of operations. After 15 years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached practically two million three hundred thousand dollars.
The next production plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the global world of the material handling industry while the company established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
The business changed its name to Cascade Corporation in the year 1964. In the year 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its manufacturing plants throughout the U.S. with places in Portland, Oregon, Springfield, Ohio, and Warner Robins, Georgia. Cascade merchandise are fabricated globally thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new plant was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is built to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of five firms, along with the global leader in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
